About the Role
The Risk Operations Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the firm’s trading activities by ensuring accurate, timely processing, settlement, and reconciliation of transactions across multiple asset classes. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and support daily trading operations across equities, fixed income, ETFs, derivatives, and other financial instruments.
- Monitor, analyze and manage market, operational and credit risks.
- Evaluate real-time profit and loss changes on account, group, firm, and organization levels.
- Oversee margin call liquidations and completeness of execution.
- Manually intervene to liquidate runaway positions.
- Approve, set and finalize all pre-trade risk parameters for newly opened trading accounts.
- Monitor for market manipulations and suspicious trading activity – escalate alerts and breaches to higher management and compliance.
- Administer account opening and closure, market data subscriptions, and order routing setups.
- Be a first contact for trading incidents across designated communication channels for individual traders and trading groups.
- Investigate, resolve and escalate real-time issues with trading infrastructure.
- Maintain high standards of operational controls, accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Assist with process improvements, automation initiatives and operational projects.
- Prepare operational reports and management information as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Trading experience and extensive knowledge of trading platforms.
- Experience in middle office or securities operations within an investment firm, asset management, hedge fund, or broker-dealer.
- Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle, settlement processes and investment operations.
- Experience working with order management systems (OMS), portfolio management systems (PMS) and market data platforms is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with SQL, Python, or automation tools is a plus.
- Fluency in English.
